KIBKABE ARAYA is a legal industry news editor and reporter pursuing an additional career as a published novelist.
She’s currently a deputy editor at Bloomberg Law, managing privacy, data security, and technology news. Writing hundreds of stories so far, she's contributed to The Seattle Times, Essence, and all the major publications in her hometown of Sacramento, California.
An advocate for diversity and inclusion in business journalism, she's an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She's a Spelman College graduate who received her master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
In her free time, she’s actively working on two young adult novels in the #ownvoices category. One unfinished work is on the longlist for the young adult literary journal Voyage's 2020 First Chapters Contest. Available to discuss literary media, she creates content about books by diverse female authors on she lit. She's based in Los Angeles.
